Parks and Recreation

The City of Flora has many recreational opportunities for local residents and visitors to our community.  We have one beautiful local park, sponsored and maintained by the Flora Kiwanis Club, located at the east end of town, adjoining the city's six public tennis courts on East North Avenue.  We are also proud to provide a lighted basketball court on the west side of the Kiwanis Park and a skate park on the east side of the tennis courts on East North Avenue that has been made possible by the Flora Rotary Club.

One of Flora's greatest assets is Charley Brown Memorial Park located west of the City along Old Highway 50.  It includes 100 acres of green space and camping facilities, along with a renovated swimming pool and the Little Toot Railroad.  In addition, the city and school district maintain and operate several ball diamonds for different age groups on East Drive on the southeast edge of Flora.  Winter recreation programs for youth are operated by the city in school facilities in January and February

The Fore C, LLC also offers a challenging nine-hole golf course in Charley Brown Memorial Park opened in 1953.  The course features 3,054 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 35.  The Flora Rotary Club sponsors a Disc Golf Course, opened in 2019, also accessible in Charley Brown Memorial Park.  The entire course is approximately 2,500 feet in length with a total par of 58.
